Seating

Do you spend a long time in a chair and find it difficult to get on and off the chair?
Is your carer struggling to assist you?

We offer specialised seating assessment and a prescription for you and your carer's needs

Aids & Equipment Prescription

Do you require increased care needs due to the progressive nature of your condition?
Do you need equipments for your ongoing needs?

We provide assessment and prescription of aids and equipment such as hoist, slings, electric scooter, electric bed.

Chronic Disease Management

Do you have a chronic health condition?
Do you find day to day activities difficult?

We assess and recommend aids and equipment to enable you to engage in meaningful activities, maintain valued life roles and participate in the community.

Pressure Care Management

Are you at risk of developing pressure injury or have you had a history of pressure injury?
Does your carer find it challenging to change your position to prevent skin breakdown?
Are you looking to manage these problems with less manual handling?
Does your current seating system affect your posture and comfort?

We provide pressure injury assessment, liaise with external stakeholders. Prescribe appropriate equipment such as cushion and pressure care mattress to promote healing.

Wheelchair

Are you housebound due to lack of a mobility device?

We perform a detailed assessment around of needs and your carers needs. We provide an assessment of your seating requirement, including the prescription of electric and manual wheelchairs. We also offer complex seating assessment and recommendations to support your posture and your physiological needs.

Home Modification

Do you live with a mobility device?
Do you for your carer find it hard to access specific sections of the house?

We provide home modification services to make your house accessible. The recommendations are based on Australian standards and national construction code (NCC). The modifications include structural and non-structural changes including bathroom, access and kitchen modifications.

  • Yes, we are a registered NDIS provider, offering services to participants predominantly in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. If your plan is through the NDIA, the participant or nominee must contact NDIA and endorse Acquire Power Occupational Therapy as a registered provider. Our provider number/Organisational ID is 4050027163. Please check with our team for current wait times and our capacity to accept referrals, depending on the nature of the referral.

  • To access our services, please contact us via phone or email. Our contact details can be found in the "Contact Us" section of our website. We will get in touch to discuss your needs as soon as possible. If you have a support coordinator, they can also reach out on your behalf to coordinate the service. Should you decide to proceed, we kindly request that the referral form be completed by the referrer, who could be the participant, nominee, advocate, or the Coordination of Supports.

  • Yes, we do require a copy of your NDIS plan. This helps us better understand your goals and prioritize them based on the available funding. Sharing the plan during the referral process ensures a smoother experience and allows us to complete reports accordingly. If not provided upfront, we can review your plan during the initial face-to-face meeting.

  • We service the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne. Our main office is in Ringwood, with a home office in Vermont. Travel time and associated charges may vary depending on the location of the work on the given day.

    • A member of our team will contact you to discuss your referral and arrange an appointment. Depending on clinician availability, this first appointment may be scheduled between 6-12 weeks.
    • Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a welcome package containing important documents, including our privacy policy, fees, terms, and conditions. Please review and sign these before our visit.
    • During the appointment, we will assess your needs, set goals, and support you in working towards achieving them.

  • Our typical wait time for services is between 8-12 weeks. In certain cases, we may be able to prioritize your service, depending on the availability of our clinicians. However, this cannot always be guaranteed.
